When was the last time you had a portrait taken of you and your mother? Or you with your children? If you’re a mom like me, then you probably spend most of your time being the one behind the camera. Very few images exist of me with my boys and I do this sort of thing for a living. How sad is that? So for Mother’s Day this year, I decided I wanted a simple portrait of me with each of my sons. I want to remember us at this age. How we are together right now. I want them to have some memory of us together that will last a lifetime. Looking at myself, I see the lines, the needs-a-hair-cut, the freckles and all the little things I’m not particularly found of about my face. But more importantly, I see my sweet boy loving me for just a moment with his big beautiful grin. And that moment captured for us is priceless. Because I can probably count on my hands the number of images we have of just the two of us, and of those few, I don’t think there is one that came from my cell phone camera that captured his great smile. So I offer this opportunity to you. In honor of Mother’s Day, I had my mom come out to the studio and have a quick portrait made with me. I also had my husband and his sister come out to take a portrait of them with their mom too. We moms love our children. It deserves to be captured from time to time. We deserve to be in the pictures too!

What is a Mother’s Portrait Session?
- A special session to capture the love between a mother and child. We want to see mother’s with young children and mother’s with adult children.
- 20 minute, in studio, mini session - one outfit each participant and expert posing
- skin and blemish retouching completed on all purchased images
- $25 per person participating in the session and limited to mother’s and their children only.
- Print pricing includes 20% off regular studio prices with special items and packages available as well
- All Mother’s Portrait sessions must be completed by May 31st 2012
- All orders must be completed by June 7th
- No pets or Newborn baby’s of less than 30 days old allowed.
- If purchased as a gift to give to someone on Mother’s Day, you will receive a beautiful Gift Certificate to present to your loved one.
- Week day and Weekend times available for this session.

Transform. | Newborn Photographer Wilmington, Fayetteville, Whiteville, NC

We are totally transforming a few things at the Vanessa G. Photography studio. After several years defining our specialties in Newborn Portraiture and Contemporary Senior Portraits, we are ready to give our studio branding a new look. In the next few weeks you will see our Website Portfolio, Facebook page, and Blog get a makeover into a new style reflecting our Authentic, Modern, and Beautiful continued theme. Our new logo is just the beginning!
But not just the outside is changing…we’re moving to our NEW STUDIO too!! We are beyond excited to finally be moving into our dream studio in May. We’ve kept this secret for the past year and have spent a lot of time designing it to be the perfect place for our clients. Keep an eye on the blog here to see images soon. And yes! An Open House is in the works for the summer and you are cordially invited.
Also, my first personal goal for 2012 was to earn my Certified Professional Photographer designation. Accomplished that in March! This elite distinction is awarded to fewer than 2,000 photographers world wide who have met stringent requirements with their photographic skills and knowledge. More on this CPP designation in next weeks post.
