Special Announcement!

Black and White photography has always been a favorite. It’s simple. It’s classic. It’s timeless. And this type of clean, focused imagery is exactly what we think is perfect this holiday season. Nothing busy. Nothing complicated. With an easy, clean, simple wardrobe that takes the focus off the clothes, and onto those beautiful faces and bright eyes. Join us on December 1st for our Holiday Mini Session day where we will paint with light and capture the Black & White Classic version of you or your loved ones. Here are a few examples to help you visualize how these images can become more than just a Holiday memory, they could be priceless heirlooms.

Your children or grandchildren together…

A generational portrait to document the strong women (or men) in your family together…

A classic profile image of your young child…

A portrait that emphasizes how they are the same, and what ties them together…family.

We look forward to seeing you join us for a Classic Black and White Holiday Session on December 1st! All you will need to bring is a black shirt. We love how simple, yet timeless, these images will look on your walls. Your session fee includes a 30 minute mini session and all 10 of your session images on a CD for printing and includes a copyright release. You can add on a set of Customized Christmas Cards or a mounted 11×14 wall portrait to your session package. All other products available with a 20% discount off of regular prices if your order is placed before Dec. 8th. All products will be available for pick up or shipped to you by Dec. 15th.

As we approach the holidays, family is sure to be on our minds. For those of you who are blissfully unaware, we are less than TEN weeks from Christmas! Christmas cards, and Christmas gifts, and Christmas trees are right around the corner as evident by the rows of Christmas decorations that the Walmart worker bees were unpacking today. There I was thinking about how wonderful it felt as I crossed the parking lot on this 70 something degree, sunny day. Then I was smacked in the face with the sight of pretty ornaments hung neatly in rows, and the reality set in that it is all about to quickly fade into the cold days of winter.

Let me make an effort to hang on to Summer by sharing a family session from earlier this year…

Bright colors. Bright eyes. Bright futures.

Often I hear mom’s say things like…’when I loose 20 pounds we’re going to take a family portrait.’ I completely understand, trust me. But I’m also thinking that when your kids look back at how beautiFUL you were in your 30′s, 40′s, 50′s…that their first thought is not going to be ‘wow, I love this picture of mom, but she should have lost 20 pounds before she had this picture taken.’ And please keep in mind that if you are ashamed of the very normal body you have, then you are also conveying that message to your children. That a woman is only beautiful if she is the size of the manicans in the store.  Which, by the way, were molded from a starving teenage girl. Please give your family a history. Document your relationship with your children and get out from behind the camera.

This family session was fun. I think I laughed and smiled as much as they did.

Record your family having fun together, being silly, laughing, and acting as though the world is perfect for just a few minutes. Here we have forty reasons to smile…

So many moms have told me to “play with my children” before they are all grown up. I’m planning for some moments like this…
